There has been a weir at Hirst Mill on the River Aire, Shipley for more than 750 years – with your help we can ensure the weir lasts another 750 years.

In the July 2012 floods Hirst Weir suffered significant damage and emergency repairs were carried out.

However, the weir is subject to continued erosion and the weir now requires buttressing to prevent its further collapse and to prevent consequent significant environmental impact on the upstream stretch and riverside paths.
