The Next Steps

We are on a mission to save Hirst Weir.

If the weir were to fail it would no longer be possible to row on the river and there would be significant environmental impact on the river as a whole and to the riverside paths – changing a landscape that has been in existence for more than 750 years.

We are applying for the necessary planning permissions and looking to raise the £600,000 needed for the works to the weir.
